Baghdad visit leads to the kidnapping of US reporter

Iraqi officials claim they are pursuing captors of US journalist who was reportedly taken captive Tuesday in Baghdad.

The reporter, identified as freelance journalist Shelly Kittelson, was supposedly pursued by two cars, one of which grabbed her and fled off. Iraqi security officials claim they cannot provide more details on the case because they lack the authorization to speak publicly on it.

Despite this they stated that they have launched an operation to track down these kidnappers, reassuring the US that one of the cars involved in the incident has already been seized. 

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad chose to give no comment.
