Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced this Tuesday, March 31st, that the US was "nearing the finish line" in its conflict with Iran, Fox News reported after interviewing him in studio.
Within the interview Rubio stressed Iran's danger towards the rest of the world. Pointing our their excessive resources towards creating bombs. He claimed that these missiles were being tested to see if they could eventually hit the United States. Had the U.S. not stepped in, according to Rubio, the US would have been hit.
Rubio stated, "They were aiming to become the next North Korea, except not a North Korea run by a regime that is troublesome and hard to understand, but an Iran run by radical Shia clerics with intercontinental missiles that could reach the mainland of the United States eventually."
He followed this quote, claiming that this goal of hitting the U.S. would have been achieved had President Donald Trump not stepped in.
While certain countries, notably Canada and Israel, have backed up Trump in his decision to remove the dangerous weapons Iran possesses, other countries believe Trump's involvement was not necessary.
